Warm-up Session Report - Results

Rubens Barrichello sets the fastest time of the session ahead of team-mate Michael Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya. Nick Heidfeld, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen make the top 6.

As usual, it is hard to read much into the time set this morning however it appears that the 2 Ferraris and the Williams of Montoya will be on the same strategy while Ralf Schumacher who ended up 12th fastest could be on a heavier fuel load. Last year all the top runners were on 2 stops so if Ralf is planning a single stop, it could make things interesting.

The 2 Saubers were ahead of the 2 McLarens possibly due to the superiority of the Bridgestone tyres under cold conditions. Things are expected to change in the afternoon as the temperature rises.
Jacques Villeneuve in the BAR continues to have a good weekend finishing 8th fastest ahead of Jenson Button and Enrique Bernoldi.

Nick Heidfeld covered the most number of laps with 17 followed by Mika Salo with 15. Jenson Button only did 8 laps and Montoya covered just 9. All the other drivers covered between 11 and 14 laps.
There were only 21 runners today as Alex Yoong failed to qualify yesterday and Minardi's appeal to allow him to start was declined.

There were a few drivers who spun during the session but they all managed to recover.

Race starts at 2:00 PM local time. Our coverage starts at 1:30 PM local time.
