San Marino GP - 2nd Friday Practice

Michael Schumacher sets the fastest time of the session ahead of team-mate Rubens Barrichello and Giancarlo Fisichella. David Coulthard, Kimi Raikkonen and Heinz Harald Frentzen make the top 6.
Massa, Montoya, R Schumacher, Sato, Heidfeld, Irvine, Button, Villeneuve, de la Rosa, Panis, Bernoldi, Webber, Salo, Yoong and McNish make the rest of the field.

60 min: No improvements.

59 min: Final lap for those on the track.

58 min: Jenson Button improves into 14th but remains over 1.3 seconds behind his team-mate Trulli who is out of the session.

56 min: Montoya spins but recovers.

54 min: McNish and Yoong are very evenly matched today. Both have set exactly the same time. McNish did a total of 29 laps while Yoong did 31!. Both a rookies too!

52 min: A very static session with not much change in the order.

50 min: Rubens Barrichello improves in second and moves closer to Michael's time.

48 min: Ralf Schumacher back on the track.

46 min: Michael Schumacher goes off and stalls. Session over for him. He was going faster still.

44 min: Michael Schumacher improves in 1st place with a time of 1:36.898. 

42 min: Michael Schumacher not improving on intermediates. 

39 min: Allan McNish improves his time but remains in last place over 6.5 seconds off the pace.

37 min: Michael Schumacher goes out on the track with intermediates.

35 min: Ralf Schumacher improves his time but remains in 10th just behind his team-mate.

34 min: Trulli off and out of the session as he hits the barrier. He is currently 7th fastest.

32 min: Rubens Barrichello takes second from Fisichella with a time of 1:37.823. Villeneuve moves into 14th.

30 min: Top 10: M Schumacher, Fisichella, Barrichello, Coulthard, Raikkonen, Frentzen, Trulli, Massa, Montoya and R Schumacher - No change!.

26 min: Villeneuve takes 16th from Panis. The Jordan appears to be better suited to this track than the BAR.

25 min: Mark Webber moves into 19th with a time of 1:41.969. Fisichella goes off into the gravel but recovers.

23 min: Both Sauber had minor off but both manage to recover.

20 min: Top 10: M Schumacher, Fisichella, Barrichello, Coulthard, Raikkonen, Frentzen, Trulli, Massa, Montoya and R Schumacher.

20 min: No major improvements. Raikkonen goes off but recovers.

18 min: Ralf Schumacher not improving on intermediates at this stage.

17 min: Allan McNish improves to 21st putting Webber in last place.

16 min: Allan McNish improves to 21st putting Webber in last place.

15 min: Mika Salo moves into 18th from 21st. Ralf Schumacher on intermediates.

14 min: Juan Pablo Montoya jumps into 9th with a time of 1:39.480. Massa improves in 8th.

12 min: Montoya is still in 19th place while the 2 Toyota's are last!

10 min: Top 10: M Schumacher, Fisichella, Barrichello, Coulthard, Raikkonen, Frentzen, Trulli, Massa, R Schumacher and Heidfeld.

8 min: Not many improvements so far but a lot of traffic and that helps in drying the track.

7 min: David Coulthard improves from 9th into 4th with a time of 1:38.747.

6 min: Ralf Schumacher goes off the track but recovers.

5 min: Allan McNish improves his time but remains in 22nd, he is now under 10 seconds off the pace!.

3 min: A number of drivers are doing laps but there are no improvements at this stage.

1 min: A number of drivers follow including the 2 Toyota's and Montoya who wasn't impressive at all this morning.

Session underway and Mark Webber is the first to go out. He only managed 7 laps in the morning session. 

After the first session, a lot of water was cleared but the track is still wet however the rain is light so we may see a drying track today. Unlikely though!. Session starting in 3 minutes. 

Session starting at 1:00 PM local time. It is still wet and raining a temperature of only 10 degrees!
