San Marino GP - Warm-up Session

Rubens Barrichello sets the fastest time of the session ahead of team-mate Michael Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya. Nick Heidfeld, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen make the top 6.
Coulthard, Villeneuve, Button, Bernoldi, Trulli, R Schumacher, Frentzen, Sato, Panis, Fisichella, Irvine, Salo, de la Rosa, Webber and McNish make the rest of the field.

30 min: Rubens Barrichello tops the times with a 1:25.483. 

30 min: Final lap ... 

29 min: Ralf Schumacher moves into 14th. Still over 1.7 seconds off the pace. 

29 min: Felipe Massa and Nick Heidfeld split the McLarens and take 5th and 6th. 

28 min: Juan Pablo Montoya moves into second with a time of 1:26.116. Ralf in 20th! 

27 min: Jarno Trulli moves into 6th with a 1:27.106 

27 min: David Coulthard takes 4th with a 1:26.701 

26 min: Ralf Schumacher is back in 19th despite doing 10 laps already! 

26 min: Rubens Barrichello now goes second with a 1:26.291. Raikkonen moves into 3rd with a 1:26.412 

25 min: Nick Heidfeld takes 3rd back with a 1:27.138 

24 min: Rubens Barrichello finally puts in a fast lap and moves into 3rd with a 1:27.214 

23 min: Top 10: M Schumacher, Button, Heidfeld, Montoya, Raikkonen, Trulli, Panis, Villeneuve, Fisichella and Massa 

22 min: Nick Heidfeld takes 3rd with a time of 1:27.353.

21 min: All the drivers have set lap times although Barrichello is in 21st!

20 min: Michael Schumacher retakes the top spot with a 1:25.906. Stunning!

20 min: And Button moves to the top of the timesheets with a 1:26.862. Michael Schumacher on a flyer!

19 min: Juan Pablo Montoya improves to 3rd with a 1:27.492. 

18 min: Jenson Button takes second with a time of 1:27.477 

17 min: Juan Pablo Montoya moves into 5th on his first flying lap with a time of 1:28.559. 

16 min: The top 2 now move into the 1:27 territory!. 

15 min: Top 10: M Schumacher, Raikkonen, Bernoldi, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Panis, Fisichella, Massa, de la Rosa and McNish. 

15 min: Michael Schumacher moves to the top of the timesheets with a 1:28.043. Raikkonen is second with a 1:28.222

14 min: These times are over 9 seconds slower than the Pole time of yesterday!

13 min: But Bernoldi betters it with a time of 1:30.271.

13 min: Kimi Raikkonen tops the timesheets now with a 1:30.656.

12 min: Felipe Massa goes fastest with a time of 1:30.763. The times are tumbling!

11 min: David Coulthard goes fastest with a 1:32.006. Sato is 4th with a 1:37.700.

10 min: Villeneuve in trouble in the pit lane. Launch control related probably.

9 min: Eddie Irvine goes second with a 1:34.175

8 min: Ralf Schumacher is the first to set a time with a 1:33.560.

6 min: A number of drivers are now back out on the track for longer runs.

4 min: Only 21 cars today for the Warm-up after Alex Yoong failed to qualify and the stewards decided to decline an appeal put by Minardi.

3 min: The first cars out are now back into the pits. Some drivers are switching to their spare cars for  a shakedown.

2 min: Rubens Barrichello and Felipe Massa have yet to go out on their installation lap.

Session underway.  Most of the cars go out on their installation lap.

The latest weather forecast is for mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. There is a 20% chance of rain during the race. 

Even though, it is very hard to read anything from the Warm-up times, it will be interesting to see how the cars will perform in race trim. Session starts in 2 minutes
