Second Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

Michael Schumacher continued to top the timesheets in the second session ahead of his team-mate Rubens Barrichello. Kimi Raikkonen was 3rd followed by Juan Pablo Montoya. Felipe Massa was 5th ahead of Oliver Panis.

Once again Ferrari dominated however Michael couldn't improve much on his time from the morning while Barrichello closed the gap significantly with only 0.161 seconds separating the 2. The Michelin runners also managed to close the gap slightly with Raikkonen in 3rd under 1.5 seconds off the pace!.

Drivers continued to go off the track as they tested the limits but all of them managed to recover this session.

The 2 Minardi drivers improved on their times from the first session and set times that are within the 107% of the fastest time.

Felipe Massa covered the most number of laps with 20 this session ahead of Rubens Barrichello and Jacques Villeneuve with 19 laps each. Allan McNish covered the least number of laps with 11.
Overall today, it was Davidson with the most number of laps at 35 ahead of Villeneuve with 33. Michael Schumacher and Allan McNish covered the least amount of laps with 23 laps each.

Weather conditions were partly cloudy with the air temperature reaching 25 degrees.

It certainly looks as if Ferrari will take the front row with an interesting fight between the rest of the Bridgestone runners and the Michelin runners for the rows behind.
However with temperatures expected to rise further in time for qualifying, Michelin might have something to say about that!

Qualifying starts at 1:00 PM local time. Our coverage starts at 12:45 PM local time
