The 2001 race

Top 6 Highlights 
1. Mika Hakkinen - McLaren Mika Hakkinen wins his first race of the 2001 season and his first ever at Silverstone. 
Michael Schumacher finished a distant second. He was on a single stop while Hakkinen was on 2.
Barrichello managed 3rd ahead of Montoya while Raikkonen managed to out-qualify and out-race his team-mate at this event.
David Coulthard retired from the race after touching with Trulli at the start of the race.
Ralf Schumacher retired from an engine failure.
16 cars were classified as finishers. 
Ferrari, Sauber, Jaguar, Arrows and Benetton managed to finish both their cars.

The 2000 race

Top 6 Highlights 
1. David Coulthard - McLaren David Coulthard wins the race after passing Rubens Barrichello who started from pole. Barrichello retires afterwards with hydraulic failure.
Mika Hakkinen finished 2nd after being passed at the start by Coulthard.
Michael Schumacher finished in 3rd after starting from 6th on the grid and was running in 8th early in the race but a brilliant pit strategy and a few retirements in front of him get him into 3rd.
15 cars were classified as finishers. 
McLaren, Williams, Benetton, Sauber, Jaguar and Minardi managed to finish both their cars.
Arrows and BAR failed to finish either of their cars.
