8 'n' Pole is an exciting competition where you get to pick the top 8 finishers for each Grand Prix in addition to the Pole setter. Registering before the start of the season will maximise your chances of winning the overall competition. However, you can still register during the season and attempt to maximise your score per race as the winner from each race wins a prize. You can also win in the categories of highest score in a round and biggest winning margin in a round. The way the competition works is simple.
During the week before a Grand Prix, you will receive a "Call for
Picks" email. Before the start of the first Friday Practice session, you'll need to
place your picks. You can submit your picks at any time prior to this
deadline. If you have a group of friends, you can create a group and ask them to join. Results for the group will be sent to each member. In 2005 we've launched NewsOnF1 Forums with a forum dedicated to the 8 'n' Pole competition. There you can discuss with other players of the competition your picks, your results and anything else you'd like to talk about. You can automatically be registered in the Forum simply by checking the box in the 8 'n' Pole registration form. Prizes: While the aim of this competition is to challenge your prediction skills and see how accurately you can predict the outcome of each race of the 2008 Formula 1 season, we are providing a number of prizes for the top scorers in the competition thanks to BookF1, first Choice For Grand Prix Tickets and The Pitstop Bookshop, the specialist motoring bookshop. Entering the competition is free but we would appreciate it if you consider NewsOnF1 when looking for Formula 1 Tours, Tickets, Merchandise or Books. You can check out our Shopping Page. This ensures that we keep the competition going and makes our sponsors happy! In 2008 we will be awarding the following prizes: A Grand Prize of £250 British Pounds (Gift Certificate from BookF1 to be used towards any Grand Prix event in 2009) to the overall winner of the competition A Second Prize of $150 US Dollars Gift Certificate from a choice of suppliers to the second placed player in the competition overall.
