The best race of the year was Interlagos
while the most boring were Hungary and Japan. I don't know but there is
something about Japan that makes it boring. The most impressive teams
were Sauber and Williams whereas the worse ones were Arrows and McLaren.
I was disappointed by Jos Verstappen. Great performance at Sepang but it
was all over when he smashed into the back of Monty in Brazil - Rob -
Australia
Well it was a season of disappointments
and elation for all involved in Formula. We saw a dominant Michael
Schumacher and Ferrari win both championships in which they richly
deserved. Rubens was unable to leave the shadow of Michael and as try as
they might Ferrari was unable to have their second driver to come second
in the championship. Frank and his boys showed that teams can come and
challenge the Ferrari-McLaren duopoly and both drivers earned their
victories. McLaren and their fans must be disappointed that a promising
start ended in the wilderness. Let us hope that Mika does not end up in
the wilderness and enjoy his sabbatical too long. Well for the rest of
the field it must be disappointing as well. The only exception is Sauber
and Kimi, unfortunately for Nick it seems that McLaren have forgotten
him. As a Jordan fan I must admit to having the entire gamut of emotions
especially the puzzling decision to sack HHF before his home GP! It must
be said that Jordan, Jaguar, BAR and dare I say McLaren and Williams,
could have a much better year if they could figure out how to keep a car
running for the distance. Benetton, Arrows, Prost and Minardi need to
know how to build a faster car, although Benetton are showing some of
their promise. Now to the moments that I thought that I would never see.
Spain with Mika's car giving out on the final lap. Austria with four
cars not even making a start, including both Jordans. Belgium with more
stalling cars and Williams forgetting to take the jacks off Ralf's car
(no amount of traction control could help with that potential
wheelspin!) Farewell to Jean Alesi, Benetton and I hope not to Mika. So
we can only wait until next year with new drivers, a new team, and a
renamed team to see what the F1 circus will bring us - Steven P -

I can't say that it was an exciting
season. There were lots of dull races but that's the way it goes
sometimes. Schumacher and the Ferrari team did everything right and
deserved the win (no argument there). I think this is a progress year
for a lot of teams so next season will be much more interesting and a
lot more competitive! Well, that's what I am hoping for anyway!! Cheers

Just to confirm that Juan Pablo Montoya
is the best driver in Formula 1. In his first year, he demonstrated his
capacities to be the next champion - Sergio - USA
I think that it has been a very good year
for Ferrari, Williams BMW and Sauber. I am very pleased that Michael
Schumacher has won the world championship again and that Ferrari won the
constructors championship. I can see Kimi Raikkonen going very far in
the future, and becoming world champion. I am pleased for Ralf
Schumacher to finally win a race as well - Catherine B - Australia
Well...it was a good season. Some big
scares and some great moments as well as a Ferrari domination which made
it quite boring at times. McLaren has had a bad year and for Williams it
was always going to be a year of development. Montoya has done great
since Monza and I really liked his performances but definitely the Man
of the Year is Michael Schumacher and the car of the year, the Ferrari.
I am happy for the Benetton-Renault which seems to be back into shape
after that horrible start of the season and also happy for the Jaguar
which has achieved 10 points (last year they scored 4). But Arrows, I am
very disappointed, we started very well showing what we could do
especially in Malaysia and Spain. Austria was our first and only point
and then from Canada onwards (where we could have scored a 6th position)
everything has gone bad. 2002 will certainly be a better year with
Rinland - Cosworth - Frentzen - Rob - Australia
