Issue 3-21 (Will it depend on the tyre manufacturers ?)

Abdul from India writes: Yes, u r absolutely right. I agree with u that Coulthard
wouldn't have surpassed MS had he not got the Stop-Go Penalty. The tyres were
absolutely crucial and Bridgestone did exceptionally well against everyone's
expectations. Pat on the back to the Ferrari team for Barrichello's race
strategy... As for the championship race, i think Ralf is the better
competitor to Schumi rather than Coulthard as he has a much superior car.

I absolutely agree with you. Coulthard is unlikely to do it as his car is at
best as fast as the Ferrari. Ralf on the other hand has a faster car and if
Michelin can give him the tyres, he can win more races - but even then he
needs Michael to not win a single race and do very poorly in several - not
likely.

Issue 3-18 (Schumacher beats Schumacher at his own game)

Paul S from the USA writes: There was finally a comment on Speedvision that the Williams are using different brakes than the other teams. Is this giving them another
advantage now that it is sorted out? They are no longer getting punted off the track like earlier this year due to what looked like braking earlier than normal and surprising other drivers (ex Villeneuve & Verstappen).

Apart from being punted off the track, as you call it, brakes that snatch to the point that they catch following drivers by surprise can't be easy to manage.
I am sure that they have sorted it out. It is a brave team that tries something different. Maybe it was Ferrari's attempt that ended one of Schumacher's races prematurely.

Issue 3-17 (Can Schumacher improve his record ?)

Issue 3-12 (Schumacher had a problem )

E S from the US writes: Hakkinen probably had a hydraulic leak. The oil leaks out at the same rate at 100 KPH as 150 KPH so getting to the finish line ASAP was his only chance.

You could see the clutch/gearbox problem first during the last lap... then no more hydraulic pressure and the engine over revs and poof! Bad luck but as Yogi would say "It ain't over til its over".

The Heretic replies:
He could have slowed down though, even if it was just to stay below the rev
limiter, but I suspect that you are right - he was just not going to make
it.

Robert D from Canada writes: Although I agree with you that the Jordan chassis has out preformed BAR. Last week at Silverstone the BAR's were faster all week, maybe they have solved their problem and their big advantage is Jacques if the car is balanced.

Issue 3-10 (Schumacher vs. Schumacher)

So many have accused me of being disloyal to Michael Schumacher (or even anti), but I am not. I personally think that he should have won in Brazil and Spain. He did not because in both cases their strategy let him down and the new fancy brakes did not help either.

I am puzzled because this is not like Brawn or Schumacher. In the past their strategy call in preparation for the race was always very good and tactics during the race was pretty much the best.

I guess they must get it wrong sometime - but two races in succession?

I actually like and respect Hakkinen, when he has it all together.

His performance so far in this season leaves very little to be impressed

Issue 3-09 (End of the streak for Schumacher ?)

Billy from India writes: Schumacher will definitely be back in pace . I guess it was a matter of bad luck in Brazil . The rain master or the Rain God did have problems with his chariot . Being a die hard Schumi fan who takes his name more than any God during a day , I can assure all of you Schumi will be back and that too with a bang !!!!! His quota of one mistake a year is over . McLaren , Williams and the rest Beware !!!!! Doomsday is near !!!!

And another bad race - I hope he gets it together before it is too late. The only bang he is gearing up for at this rate is a noisy engine failure - he has tried everything else.

Stuart from Canada writes: I do believe Williams is a real contender. Montoya is new to the game(f1) and trying successfully to make his mark. We will see him on the podium in the not too distant future.

Issue 3-08 (Montoya. Unlucky or reckless)

Grant for South Africa writes : I don't think Montoya was reckless in overtaking Michael , he knows the capability of the BMW and used it ! i do agree that they have a strange braking pattern , but Verstappen almost seemed to have accelerated into the back of him , podium finish was definitely on the cards for both drivers on a track such as brazil.

Issue 3-04 (So I was wrong. For how long ?)

Tom from the USA writes: I have said this on other sites and will say it here---take it to the bank---Schuey may win the drivers title again but the McLaren team will win the constructors championship. If not for some erratic decision making by both David and Mika, this would be the 4th year in a row for the McLaren team. From Hockenheim on to the end last season, DC and Mika made bad decisions or they would've won it again in 2000. The McLaren is the best race car in the world, bar none.

I wonder if the McLaren is fast enough this year.
I absolutely agree with you - over the last two seasons it was driver error or team strategy/timing that killed their chances.
This year the huge speed advantage seems to have shrunk to nothing.
