6 min: Villeneuve who stopped on the track late in the first session will also struggle to make it back onto the track but that depends of course on the problem that forced him to stop.

5 min: Juan Pablo Montoya on the track and so are de la Rosa, McNish and Yoong

4 min: Ralf Schumacher is the first to improve on his time from the 1st session moving into 4th with a time of 1:22.737, still over 0.6 seconds off the pace.

3 min: Barrichello will be hoping to get back on the track this session before qualifying but his mechanics will have to fit a new engine into his car in a very short time.

2 min: Track temperatures are continuing to increase reaching 25 degrees at this stage. This will be a boost for the Michelin runners.

Michael Schumacher was fastest in the first session but Montoya is living up to the expectations and was just fractionally slower. Barrichello suffered a blown engine which is something that we don't usually see happen to a Ferrari. Session starting in 2 minutes
