Japanese GP - Warm-up:

Michael Schumacher sets the fastest time of the session ahead of David Coulthard and Nick Heidfeld. Trulli, Alesi, Hakkinen, Barrichello, Frentzen, Raikkonen and de la Rosa make the top 10.

30 min: Montoya improves to 17th!

30 min: Raikkonen moves back into 8th.

29 min: Final run and Montoya is on the track.

28 min: Nick Heidfeld takes 3rd away from Alesi and Trulli takes 4th!

27 min: Jean Alesi moves into 3rd place with a time of 1:37.361

25 min: Juan Pablo Montoya has only covered 5 laps so far and is in 18th!

24 min: No improvements in the top 10 and the Bridgestone runners are looking strong.

22 min: David Coulthard improves in second with a 1:36.685. Still almost half a second behind Michael.

20 min: Ralf Schumacher improves and moves into 7th with a time of 1:38.183.

19 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Coulthard, Hakkinen, Barrichello, Trulli, Heidfeld, Alesi, Raikkonen, Irvine and Frentzen.

18 min: Jean Alesi takes 7th with a 1:38.217. 

17 min: Jarno Trulli takes 5th with a 1:37.901. 

16 min: The Michelin runners seem to be struggling this morning. Irvine in 8th is the fastest running Michelin at this stage. Ralf Schumacher is 14th and Montoya is 16. Different strategies perhaps ?

15 min: Barrichello improves to 4th.

14 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Coulthard, Hakkinen, Heidfeld, Barrichello, Trulli, Raikkonen, Irvine, Frentzen and Panis.

13 min: Michael Schumacher goes fastest with a time of 1:36.231. Meanwhile Montoya is 15th!

12 min: Bernoldi goes third with a 1:39.295. He is probably on a lighter fuel load. Michael Schumacher on track.

11 min: Coulthard goes fastest with a time of 1:36.742 followed by Hakkinen with a 1:38.564

10 min: Jenson Button goes third with a time of 1:1:40.233.

9 min: Almost all the drivers are about to set timed laps!.

8 min: Jacques Villeneuve improves to 1:39.313 while Ralf Schumacher sets the second fastest time with a 1:39.657.

6 min: Jacques Villeneuve sets a time of 1:40.281. More drivers are now on the track for their first runs including Ralf Schumacher.

4 min: Jacques Villeneuve is the first man to start a timed run. He starts from 14th on the grid.

2 min: Most of the cars are back in the pits. Those with spare cars will now give them a shakedown lap.
