      5-Dec:

      Despite all the assurances
from Orange Arrows that Jos Verstappen will be driving for
the team in 2002, it appears that they have yet to decide on him. With the
financial problems at Prost, Heinz Harald Frentzen could be available and
Arrows appear to be interested. They may have to keep Enrique Bernoldi due
to his links with Red Bull and so it will be a choice between Verstappen
and Frentzen. 4-Dec: The FIA announced the Provisional Entry List for 2002 and the Prost team appears on the list despite the team going into receivership. A couple of surprises on the list. Jos Verstappen was not listed as an Orange Arrows driver and Alex Yoong was not listed as a Minardi driver. In total, 6 drivers remain to be confirmed.

      TBA: To be announced.

Please note that the numbering of some teams appears incorrect but this
is what the FIA have released.  3-Dec: Mika Hakkinen has indicated that he is in no rush to decided what he will do in 2003 as he is now enjoying his time with his wife and son. He said "I am enjoying the time I can spend with my family and there is no rush to make a choice about coming back. My son started walking three days ago and every day it is exciting to watch him grow. I will not make a decision until the middle of next year at least."

      30-Nov:
The Orange Arrows team decided to continue their partnership with
Bridgestone for next season and beyond. Team Principal Tom Walkinshaw
said "Bridgestone is one of our longest-standing partners and the
relationship we have with them is very strong as they are as committed to
success as we are. In a time when tyre development is critical to
performance it is great to have the continuity in one of our most
successful partnerships." Jaguar and Arrows will be running Cosworth engines in 2002 but they will be on running different tyres and that will make it an interesting fight between the two teams.

      29-Nov:
Jaguar Racing announced today the appointment of Guenther Steiner as
the team's new Managing Director from next Monday. Steiner was the
Director of Engineering at the Ford World Rally Team.

      28-Nov:
Heinz Harald Frentzen who drove for Jordan then Prost in 2001 has
indicated that he is confident of a Formula 1 drive next year but is not
sure with which team. He prefers to continue driving for Prost but has
admitted visiting the Arrows factory and having talks with Paul Stoddart
from Minardi. He said "I think there is hope for a new start for the
Prost team. Now we have to wait and see what happens. My decision on
whether I stay with the team will have no influence on the situation.

      27-Nov:
GPWC Holding BV is the name of the company setup by the car
manufacturers for a rival series to Formula 1. FIAT boss Paolo
Cantarella will head this company with Juergen Hubbert of
DaimlerChrysler, Patrick Faure of Renault, Burkard Geoschel of BMW and
Wolfgang Reitzle of Ford appointed members of the board. The Sauber team announced today that they will unveil their 2002 contender on the 25th of January. Nick Heidfeld and rookie Felipe Massa will be driving for the team next season.

      24-Nov:
British American Racing finally announced that they will be using Bridgestone
rubber for the 2002 season and beyond. The team signed a 3-year agreement
in 99 when they entered the sport and they were considering a switch to
Michelin. Craig Pollock was delighted with the announcement and said
"I am extremely pleased to make this announcement. Tyre
development and technology are critical to the sport and I believe that
the continuity of our partnership will yield the competitive advantage the
team needs to fulfil its racing ambitions."

      23-Nov:
Visitors of NewsOnF1.com have voted for Best Driver, Best
Team and Best Rookie for 2001 and as several of our readers pointed
out, none of the categories were a serious contest this season yet over
2000 visitors did cast their vote.

      22-Nov:
      Alain
Prost made a statement following the news that his team Prost GP
was placed into receivership. He vowed to continue on and prepare for the
2002 season and said "It's not over. Contrary to what I have
read, we are not throwing in the towel. We'll keep fighting for our
adventure to continue. There was a court ruling this morning and the
administrator's task will be to help me in my attempt to find solutions in
      the near future.

      22-Nov:
Following months of speculation over the financial situation at Prost
GP, the team has gone into receivership. Prost has had a far more impressive record as a driver rather than a team owner. As a driver he won 4 World Titles and 51 Grands Prix while as a team owner he never won a race with a best result of 2nd twice at Spain '97 with Olivier Panis and Europe '99 with Jarno Trulli. Prost entered Formula 1 in 1997 after buying the Ligier team. The team's best season was their debut season where they finished 6th with 21 points. Their worst year was 2000 when they failed to score any points and were classified last in the championship. Loading
